Energy
Nuclear
After more than 40 years expertise within the nuclear industry, the Conger Enterprises team has provided services to every USA nuclear power plant, as well as plants in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Professional services have included: Regulatory Support, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Program Development, Probabilistic Safety Analysis, Engineering and Design Processes.
With respect to new nuclear countries, the team’s expertise and independent position is an important advantage for providing support to countries embarking on nuclear technology. The Conger Enterprise team can provide support throughout all three initial phases of the nuclear power plant project development:
Phase I, after which the country is ready to make a knowledgeable commitment to nuclear power.
Phase II, after which it is ready to invite bids for the first NPP.
Phase III, when it is ready to commission and operate the first NPP.
The team will also provide continued support throughout the remaining two phases of a nuclear power plant project. i.e. operation and eventual decommissioning.
Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution
The Conger Enterprises team of professionals have led studies for fossil, hydro and renewable generation, providing Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action Program Development, among other services. Transmission and Distribution are also areas of emphasis for the team, particularly cause analysis related to major power outages, including those associated with the August 14, 2003 outage in the USA. Similar services have also been provided in Brazil and in the Ukraine.
Petroleum & Natural Gas
Exploration, production and refining have been major areas of market emphasis for Conger Enterprises since the early 1980’s. The team has experience in implementing safety improvement processes for drilling operations, both on-and offshore. These services included production problem resolution and fatality investigations. Chevron & Apache are two of the worldwide client companies that practice particularly effective Conger Enterprises processes.
Pipeline
Pipeline operators continue to experience greater scrutiny every day. The Conger Enterprises team has led these client organizations in making improvements to the corrective action programs and cause evaluations, resulting in fewer incidents and actions to prevent more serious incidents. Whether the cause evaluations are for large transmission pipeline failures or smaller distribution failures, the team has been successfully introducing proven processes and personnel training that sustain the investigation and analysis methods.
Government Oversight & Regulatory Agencies
Federal
The Conger Enterprises team first performed work for the Department of Energy in 1981, serving as an instructor for Root Cause Analysis and the Accident Investigation Training Program. Since that early entry, the team has regularly performed work with the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement in the US Federal System, the Chemical Safety Board, the Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and the US Navy. Services include: Training, Incident Investigation, and Program Design (payload safety, etc.).
State
Pipeline, nuclear and nuclear materials also involve state agencies for enforcement. The Conger Enterprises team has provided training and support serves to state agencies with enforcement responsibilities, that have included: Alaska, California, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Texas, among others.
International
The Conger Enterprises team has led international efforts for more than 30 years. Projects have been conducted on all seven continents. The team has had and, in most cases, still maintains offices located in international regions that include: Australia, Austria, Croatia and Spain. Principal international work has been managed in: Austria, China, India, Korea, the Middle East, Netherlands, Pakistan, Philippines, Spain, Ukraine, and Vietnam.

Pharmaceutical
The Conger Enterprises team has working experience with pharmaceutical companies. It maintains an ongoing relationship with Biogen. This augments the team’s previous relationships with Mallinckrodt, Covidien and Tyco.
Aviation & Aerospace
The Conger Enterprises team has touched the aviation and aerospace industries in multiple ways. Examples are: examining historical records to determine the causes of a cancer cluster in aviation workers, performing serious mishap investigations involving a helicopter test tower, and evaluating the manufacturing process for solid rocket motors to determine whether that process contributed to a catastrophic failure. The team has also led safety assessments of aircraft rework facilities leading to recommendations for failure reduction.
Other Industries
Members of the team have served as expert witness during public utility rate cases and court proceedings. The team served as the health, safety and environmental support for the US Antarctic Program. The team led efforts to improve the safety of heavy manufacturing facilities for a large industrial client. The team has also conducted major projects in mining operations, including fatality investigations.
